Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue Hiking Boots

A Review – Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue Hiking Boots

Is the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue a hiking boot, or do we sorely call it a hiking shoe? Whatever it is classified under, it is a seriously comforable and lightweight hiking boot/shoe. It can hold it’s own on the trail, and even though it’s super beautiful, it does what it is supposed to do.

The Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue is super-modern, it is super comfortable and it’s a hiking boot that you won’t be able to miss on the hiking trail, thanks to the different colours that Adidas have chosen to use, away from the normal browns,  greys and blacks that most hiking boots and shoes adopt. There is a lot that will make you fall in love with the shoe, but for super serious hikers who want serious off-road terrains, they might not be completely sold.

Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue Hiking Boots

These Terrex hiking boots weigh next to nothing, at just over 400 g (I am a size 6), which is great. This is because of the Ultraboost foam that has been used, as well as the sock like material that has been used for the upper part of the boot.

These hiking boots come with a super comfortable midsole, because of the ultraboost, that makes you feel like you are floating on air. I honestly have not worn hiking boots that felt this comfortable. But for those die-hard hikers, there might be some worry with regards to how long the midsole would last for, but for me, it’s perfect.

The Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue has a great grip, because of the sock-like part on the upper side of the boots. This also makes the boots breathable, which is great. In terms of waterproof capability, the good thing is that the boots dry up very quickly.

Who should buy this hiking shoe/boot

I bought the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue hiking boot because I didn’t have proper hiking boots/shoes, and given the fact that we are starting to get serious with our “hiking Sundays”, it made sense to splurge on some good hiking shoes. In all honestly . . . I was looking at the Terrex and Hitec when I was doing my research, and I settled on the Terrex because Adidas had a really good special at the time (I bought it for R1369 while retail price was R4599) that I just couldn’t pass up. Also . . . this hiking shoe is gorgeous!

The Adidas Terrex Free Hiker is a beautiful and stylish hiking boot, and it has a sock-like fit that’s great when you are going for those great trails and gravel paths. They are super comfortable, and they can hold their own all day long. Based on my experience with them, I would say they are better suited for urban environments.

Who should not buy this hiking shoe/boot

Let’s be honest, these hiking boots are beautiful and stylish, so given that they are more of a fashion boot, you might want to consider other boots for your hiking, especially if you are looking for something to wear for super challenging terrains.

Also, if you are looking for something more waterproof, you may want to look at the Adidas Terrex AX Mid GTX, and pass on this one.

What I Love About The Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue

It is light weight and breathable . . . and I love that they experimented with different colours when they made this. This boot could look great with a pair of jeans  . . . that’s definitely a win for me!

This boot comes with a super amazing grip, and I have to mention the great midsole.

It’s amazing for urban hiking  . . . so definitely for people like me.

Conclusion

I love the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Primeblue  . . . and I must say, sometimes I just want to wear it with some jeans and go to the mall. It has so many positives that I have highlighted above.

Having said that . . . it might not be the best hiking boots for hardcore hikers that focus on doing technical trails. It might not have the durability needed to tackle those technical trails.

If you are like me however, and you do urban hiking, these hiking boots are perfect. They look beautiful, light and super comfortable!

i would absolutely recommend them!
