Lift Airline Review

Our Experience Travelling on LIFT Airlines from Johannesburg to Cape Town

To celebrate my baby’s birthday, we planned a vacation to Cape Town, and we took a flight with LIFT Airlines from Johannesburg to Cape Town, to go back to the city where I proposed. LIFT Airlines was pretty new at the time, and honestly we weren’t really sure what to expect.

We were excited to be going back to Cape Town, and we were super excited to be going back to our favourite city. We decided to book our flights with LIFT Airlines because for one it would be a brand new experience for us, and honestly, their flights were cheaper than what was available at the time.

Booking the tickets was a breeze, and we loved the flexibility of being able to change flights or cancel without penalties, regardless of what class of ticket you booked. That was a huge plus for us!

Lift Airline : First Impression

The first impression was already made, with the LIFT seamless booking system, but we were still looking forward to experiencing the actual flight, the cabin crew and more.

On the day of our flight, we got to OR Tambo early in the morning, and went straight for check in. The lady that helped us was very friendly, and very professional. We got our bags checked in without a glitch, and we waited for the actual boarding of the flight. We had booked Economy class with checked bags (up to 23 Kg’s) and hand luggage.

Lift Airline: Flight  Johannesburg to Cape Town

On boarding the plane, we were met with very friendly cabin crew members, who were also attentive and they showed us where our seats were. They were a bit more casual than what we are used to with regards to what cabin crew normally wear, which we loved. Later on their website, we learned that they are dressed by Superbalist.

Our seats, by the window were economic but they were very comfortable. During the flight, we were not offered a meal, we did however get a coffee and a croissant courtesy of Vida e Caffe, which was awesome as we were on a very early flight. And I mean . . . who doesn’t like free food!

The rest of the flight went without a glitch, it was pleasant and comfortable, and 2 hrs later we arrived in the Mother City.

On arrival in Cape Town we got off the plane row by row in keeping with Covid19 regulations, yes Covid 19 was still a thing at the time. Baggage collection in Cape Town was quick, all that was left for us to do was make our way out of the airport to where we were staying in Camps Bay.
