A Review of Havana Villa in Pretoria East
Nestled in the outskirts of Pretoria, Havana Villa beckons travelers to indulge in a world where luxury intertwines with tranquility. As avid explorers and likers of nice things, we had the pleasure of experiencing this hidden gem firsthand, and we’re excited to share our journey with you.
From the moment we made the booking, all our questions were answered in record time, and the host Thomas was super friendly, patient and helpful.
The Journey and First Impressions
Havana Villa is a good hour from Johannesburg, and traffic was kind to us, as our check in was on a Sunday afternoon.
While the majority of the journey was on a tar road, there is a small patch of gravel that you have to navigate to get to the place, so if you have a 4×4, be sure to use that.
But getting there was so worth it!
From the moment we arrived at Havana Villa, we were met with an atmosphere that spoke of sophistication and serenity. The villa’s exterior, a harmonious blend of contemporary design and local flair, set the tone for our extraordinary retreat.
Despite being nestled in a world of serenity, Havana Villa ensured we could stay connected. The inclusion of free WiFi was a thoughtful touch, allowing us to share our experiences with loved ones while still immersing ourselves in the villa’s tranquility.
Havana Villa Interior Elegance and Comfort
Stepping into Havana Villa’s interior was like entering a realm of comfort and elegance. The spacious living area was a haven of relaxation, with plush seating and ample space to unwind.
The fully equipped kitchen delighted our inner food enthusiasts, inviting us to whip up culinary creations while enjoying the modern amenities.
One of the very first things that we noticed, after noticing how clean and stunning it was, was how spacious it was. While we have experienced beautiful small living spaces, the spaces in this villa was a breath of fresh air.
It honestly gave us, “our dream home” type of vibes.
The Spacious Ensuite Bedroom: A Haven of Rest
Did I mention how spacious our bedroom was? I think I did!
We didn’t have a chance to see the 2nd bedroom, as it was just me and my partner at the villa, but judging on how spacious and gorgeous our bedroom was, we know the 2nd bedroom was just as great.
The bedroom(s) at Havana Villa are a testament to the art of restful relaxation. Soft linens, thoughtfully chosen décor, and a cute couples corner to relax in, made our stay beautiful and relaxing, this villa was exactly what we needed for a perfect getaway.
As you sink into the sumptuous bedding, you’ll find that sleep comes effortlessly. Even though we thought we would watch a movie on Netflix, we ended up just falling asleep.
The bedroom was our sanctuary after an eventful day of fun. Waking up to the gentle sunlight filtering through the windows felt like a gentle embrace, setting the tone for the day ahead.
Havana Villa Outdoor Delights
Havana Villa’s outdoor spaces were nothing short of great. The patio, an oasis of serenity, became our favorite spot for afternoon and evening moments and reflections.
The boma area transported us into the heart of South Africa’s traditions, where the crackling bonfire and starlit sky foster beautiful cherished moments. Normally, we would have done our favourite braai, but this time we decided to cook instead, and with that fully equipped kitchen, we created sumptuous oxtail and mash with creamy spinach.
We spent most of our time in the wood-fired hot tub (naturally as we love being in the water)– a haven of relaxation that allowed us to connect with each other, over some of our favourite drinks and a nice platter with cheese, chocolates, strawberries, chips, crackers an more.
Soaking in that warm water was what we needed to be rejuvenated and to relax in that beautiful space, chatting and reminiscing our journey so far.
Havana Villa: Memorable Experiences
Our stay at Havana Villa was punctuated by unforgettable moments. The warm hospitality of the host, the gorgeous space and the cleanliness during our visit left a lasting impression. It’s these personal touches that set Havana Villa apart from many.
Havana Villa’s location was the perfect launchpad for our getaway, away from the bustle of the city which is exactly what we needed. We didn’t venture out to nearby parks, restaurants, or cultural sites, however we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We sadly only spent one night there, because it was fully booked out, so take this as a sign to book this gem in advance.
