Gratitude Restaurant in Modderfontein

Our Dining Experience at Gratitude Restaurant in Modderfontein

Bae and I decided to try out Gratitude Restaurant in Modderfontein . . . we have been hearing about the place and how beautiful it is for a while , so when we found ourselves around the area, we decided it was the perfect day to check it out.

It is located in Modderfontein, at the Flamingo Shopping Center, which is very close to the new location of the Fourways Farmers Market.

We went on a Friday afternoon, before it got busy, which was great because it felt like we had almost the entire restaurant to ourselves.

Our First Impression of Gratitude Restaurant

Gratitude Restaurant is beautiful . . . and spacious. We obviously chose to sit by the area where we are able to see the lake, so we could enjoy the view of the lake as we enjoyed our meal. And of course, we were there around 12, the sun was out, and I loved how it filled the room.

The decor at Gratitude is modern, clean and somewhat looked kind of new, it made sense though when I learned that it was opened back in 2019. And with Covid 19 and restaurants being closed for most of that period, it just made sense.

When we got there, we were greeted by a gentleman with a big smile on his face, so we felt really welcome.

Food & Drinks at Gratitude Restaurant

As soon as we got seated, we ordered our drinks, I proceeded to order my usual, a Hunters Dry Cider and bae decided to order a Brutal Fruit, as opposed to her usual Merlot .

The view is breathtaking, and with the sun kissing on our skin, it was the perfect Friday afternoon.

They have a variety of dishes at Gratitude Restaurant, and their drinks menu is also quite extensive. I ordered the meat platter with mixed vegetables and rice, while bae ordered the Tempura Prawn Taco.

Our food didn’t take long as were literally one of the first few people to arrive at the restaurant. And as usual, bae and I usually share food, just in case the one meal tastes better than the other, so that none of us have FOMO.

The Tempura Prawn Tapa was super delicious, the only regret was not ordering more of it. It was perfectly done and full of flavour, so of course bae knew that we would have to go half on it. The meat platter was ok, we actually took most of it home, for later.

Final Thoughts: Gratitude Restaurant

Gratitude Restaurant is a great restaurant. Loved the decor, the vibe, our waiter was nice and the view is to die for. We also loved the music . . . it was mellow/romantic music which worked perfectly for us.

Bae and I had a good experience there, and I would definitely recommend it.

Lastly . . . just knowing that it’s black owned makes us love it even more. It’s always amazing when my people do amazing things and bae and I will always support these type of establishments.

We had a great aftrenoon there, and we probably would visit again in the future, for a more night out type of experience!
