Our Zimbali Coastal Resort Experience at Oceans Edge 8

A Zimbali Coastal Resort Experience at Oceans Edge 8

Zimbali has always been that one place that we have always wanted to explore, and we did Zimbali Coastal Resort  for the first time together in 2021. . . and just as we thought, it exceeded all expectations. So . . . we decided that we needed to do it again.

Our first time was obviously soo beautiful, so much so that a second trip was inevitable. We booked a different house, this time on Oceans Edge . . . and this house was super stunning. More about the house later.

Just like with every trip that we take, this one was no different. we packed the Ford Everest to capacity, the ample space came in handy. We had tons of outfit changes, food, accessories and more. Our motto is “rather have it and not use it, than not have it and needing it during the trip”.

The Plan was to Get to Zimbali at Around 1pm

We set out for our trip on Friday morning, pulling out of Johannesburg at 6h00 am, before the traffic got thick. We had already sent out our ID’s for access at the Zimbali Coastal Resort in advance, so the checking in process was seamless and quick. I think it was a plus that we had been there before, so we knew the drift.

As soon as our biometrics were done, we then headed off to the property . . . and honestly, one can never really get used to the scenic and beautiful roads inside Zimbali (Maybe if I live there permanently it will be different). I love the slow speed limit also, as it allows you to take the beauty in, without being rushed.

After a few minutes of driving, we pulled up to 8 Oceans Edge . . . and managed to get our key from the safety box right next to the entrance. Upon entering the house and exploring it, you get to see the bedrooms on that floor. The house boasts 4 beautiful bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and the views from the balconies are insane. You literally can see the ocean from the balconies, and the sound of the ocean is one that is soothing and beautiful.

Next to the entrance are stairs that go down to the kitchen, the dining area and the living room area. The furniture is modern and beautifully decorated, and we immediately noticed that the living area has huge sliding doors that open seamlessly to the outside deck. The deck has a pool and braai facilities . . . and of course stunning views. It’s no wobder that this was our favourite part of the house!

What We Got Up to In Zimbali

Zimbali is truly living in a lap of luxury . . . and there’s just soo much to do there. If you are into golf, there’s  a beautiful golf course at your disposal.

And for the rest of us, there’s a private beach, swimming pools, tennis and squash courts, running trails and so much more. We were mostly interested in lazying and relaxing around at the beach, which we did plenty of. When we were not at home in the pool, braaing or lazying around, it was a bikini affair as we enjoyed the Bushbuck Pools.

One of the days . . . we decided to go to Durban to do a boat cruise, which we abolsutely enjoyed.

The only downside to staying at Oceans Edge 8 was the wifi. . . we didn’t have wifi the entire weekend as the instructions just didn’t work, which was pretty frustrating.

Would we Recommend Oceans Edge 8?

Yes . . . a resounding YES!

Zimbali is abolutely beautiful, and this house is stunning!
