I am pretty sure you have heard about glamping by now, where you can get all the benefits of camping, without having to deal with creepy crawlies, sleeping on a sleeping bag and possibly having to use the bushes as a toilet.
Glamping on the other hand is luxury camping, you still will enjoy a bath, proper food and a toilet just like the one you have at home. Best of all, these glamping spots that I am about to share with you, are incredible, you will wonder why you haven’t tried them in the first place.

This is the first glamping spot that we ever went to, and totally loved it.

#1. B’sorah Luxury Tented Camp
We experienced B’Sorah luxury Tented Camp after a grueling weekend, at Hartbeespoort, and we just needed some time out and relax.
It is situated between Harties and Magaliesburg, so you already know that it is in the middle of nothing (so it seems). The luxury tents are stunning, with a big patio that has a seating area for 2, and a umbrella for great relaxation if you are looking to sit outside.
The tent setup is that of an apartment, with the bathroom being the most memorable part of the apartment – for me. In true glamping style, the tents have an outside kitchenette, a braai area, an en-suite bathroom, and a very comfortable bed.
The shower is beautiful, you can see the bushes from the shower, it’s breathtaking.

#2. Lookout Safari Lodge, Klipdrift
Lookout Safari Lodge is perhaps one of the most romantic glamping spot for a couple in Gauteng. It has everything needed to have a romantic getaway, and connect with your lover.
The lodge offers 4 unique luxury self-catering chalets, you will also enjoy your own private boma and braai area, under the stars. Best of all, the patio has lounge chairs, for you to enjoy the stars.
You also can enjoy your own private splash pool, which is the ultimate relaxation activity for you and your partner.
Lookout Safari Lodge is situated at Dinokeng Nature Reserve, so yes . . . you and your partner can do a game drive if you love watching animals.

#3. Sibani Luxury Tents
Sibani Luxury Tents is also a great glamping spot, if you are looking to unwind and spend some time away from the city. Each tent is like an apartment, without a kitchenette.
They also do not have a braai area, so you will have to buy food at their facilities.
Each tent comes with a wood fired hot tub, which is perfect for couples to enjoy.
Best of all, you can enjoy a game drive and explore the beautiful Mt Savannah Game Reserve , at no extra cost, which is amazing!

#4. Idwala Le Ingwe
Idwala Le Ingwe had to make it to this list because it is a stunning place to escape the city for a day or two. It is the last glamping experience we had (at the time of writing this and we loved it). It is luxury glamping, did I mention that the tent is stunning . . . with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower, a small lounge, dining and kitchen.
You and your lover can enjoy braaiing together, taking a hike or simply spending time in the pool. If you are looking to get out of the compound, there’s lots to do in Magaliesburg and the surrounds, such as hot air ballooning if the budget allows.
We recently checked out Idwala Le Ingwe and found to be charming. It is located up a hill, so the views of the Magaliesburg are stunning, it is the perfect place to reset and rejuvenate, away from everything.

#5. Jabula Bush Camp
Jabula Bush Camp is situated in the Dinokeng Big Five Game Reserve; a perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the bushveld. Jabula Bush Camp has beautiful glamping self-catering tents, what we find super attractive about this glamping spot is the fact that each tent has a private splash pool. You can have a braai and cool off in the splash pool.
The splash pool is on the private deck, if you don’t feel like being in the pool, you can just enjoy some sips on the sun loungers and enjoy being surrounded by wildlife.
The tents are not your usual 2 sleeper tents, they can take up to 4 adults, however, there’s no reason why you can’t book it for you and your partner, unless you want some extra company.

#6. Out of Africa Suite, Mint Hotel
The Out of Africa Suite is the new kid on the block, and we love that it is right in the heart of Sandton, at Mint Hotel.
This glamping spot might be right in the city, but you still get a bushveld experience of note. You can expect “an extra-large king bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton linen and a connected en-suite bathroom”, and the best part is that you get to enjoy indoor and outdoor showers!
That’s not all, you also get to enjoy your own private fire pit, private splash pool and private BBQ facility. . . everything you need to get romantic with your partner and make amazing memories together.
