Our Experience at Peermont D’Oreale Grande Hotel
Johannesburg is the city with the most bustle and hustle, and at times it can be difficult to be still, relax and rejuvenate, especially in a place like Emperors Palace where people flock in daily with the hopes of winning the jackpot.
Right in the middle of it all, there is Peermont D’Oreale Grande, a 5 star hotel in Johannesburg. It is a very convenient hotel, as it is right next to the airport, for intenational travellers and people flying in from other South African cities.
The D’Oreale Grande is the perfect hotel for any type of traveller, especially those who are looking for comfortable, exceptional accommodation. In addition to great accommodation, there is lots to do at Emperors Palace, without having to leave the compound.
Emperors Palace is a place with a lot of entertainment options, from leisure facilities, to exciting and fun shows , to wonderful dining experiences . . . there is no getting bored with everything that they are offering.
D’Oreale Grande is beautiful . . . and the furnishings and spaces guarantee a relaxed and a very comfortable stay.
First Impressions at D’Oreale Grande Hotel
Check in at the hotel is 15h00, so shortly after 15h00 we arrived at Emperors Palace, and made our way to D’Oreale Grande.
The hotel is stunning . . . with beautiful manicured lawns, flowers and the water feature just before you get to reception. And inside, it’s just as stunning, if not more.
At the entrance, we were greeted by friendly smiles, check it at reception was seamless and quick. And within a few minutes, we were ready to make our way to our room.
From the security to the ladies at reception, everyone was friendly and willing to help. They answered all our questions promptly, and we knew we were in good company.
We could already feel the Christmas spirit creeping in on us, we couldn’t help it, especially with the huge Christmas tree right on the foyer before you get to Reign Restaurant and the lifts.
And of course, what’s a 5 star hotel without the perfect wifi? Zero worries at D’Oreale Grande, and we were connected in no time.
D’Oreale Grande Hotel Rooms
The rooms at D’Oreale Grande are stunning and modern, and ours was perfect by the corner.
Our room had an en-suite bathroom, with both a bath and a double volume shower. It had everything we needed our stay as comfortable as can be . . . including a safe, air-conditioning; a hairdryer, an iron, minibar fridge, TV, tea and coffee station, and a work station.
The rooms are beautifully decorated . . . what we loved the most was the patio which we could access from the large sliding door. The area had a big ample space, with a table and chairs, where we could relax and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or enjoy room service if we chose to. Or even better . . . a night cap at the end of a long challenging day.
With crisp white linen, and king sized bed . . . with pillows that are almost inviting you in, the setup is super comfortable and luxurious, the perfect home away from home.
Where to eat at D’Oreale Grande
There is a new restaurant in town, called Reign . . . and it’s just right inside D’Oreale Grande, between the reception and the majestic waterfall at their beautiful pool.
Reign Restaurant offers beautiful culinary experiences, perfect for lovers and friends. It just opened not too long ago, and it’s an experience that we truly marvelled at.
Besides Reign, there are a few restaurants to choose from, that offer great dishes. These include Rosetta’s Bistro Restaurant Kitchen, Tribes African Grill & Steakhouse, Platia, Braza and more.
While we could have opted for room service, we decided to have our buffet breakfast at Rosetta’s Bistro Restaurant Kitchen . . . and it was incredible. They offer a very large selection of options within the buffet, like oriental, meditarrenean, asian, continental and so much more. A feast really . . . and the ladies are just amazing and hands on when it comes to assisting guests.
And their latte is insane!
Things to do at D’Oreale Grande Hotel
Emperors Palace is famous for the casino, and guests at D’oreale Grande can enjoy full access to it. If it’s entertainment that you are looking for, it is the right spot.
Not to mention the many great dining experiences that you can try out and well as their relaxation facilities of the Emperors Palace Resort.
Octavia’s Day Spa
There is a world class Octavia’s Day Spa right inside the D’oreale Grande, where guests can enjoy treatment of the highest level. It is “one of the best day spas in the country with top-class spa facilities and professionally trained therapists offering the latest techniques in a full range of spa treatments.”
Dining Experiences
If you love food like we do, then you will be excited about the many options when it comes to food. There are a lot of restaurants at Emperors Palace for you to enjoy, like Reign, Zen, Platia, Rosetta’s, Braza, Ocean Basket to mention just a few.
If you are looking for a culinary experience like no other, the Emperors Palace might just have what you are looking for.
Shopping, Shows and the Cinema
We can’t talk about Emperors Palace without talking about the shopping that you can do, the shows that you can watch and the movies . . . right there at your doorstep.
The Pool
We love water, and the pool at D’oreale Grande is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy being in the water, over a nice cocktail.
And that’s what we did for a few hours, and it is definitely something I would recommend for everyone.
The pool is beautiful, large enough to accommodate a huge number of people, not to forget the water feature right in it’s center.
For me . . . definitely one of the best places t put your feet up, and relax.
The best part, Reign Restaurant is right there next to it, you literally can order some nibbles as you soak in that beautiful pool and the garden.
