Mozambik Restaurant in Linksfield – A Review

Our Experience at Mozambik Portuguese Restaurant in Linksfield

We tried Mozambik in Linksfield (Johannesburg) for my partners mom’s birthday . . . which is a Portuguese restaurant that serves Afro-Porto cuisine  for those who don’t know. Having tried other Mozambik restaurants like the one in Benoni, Sunninghill and Centurion, we wanted to do the birthday celebration at a place that would be able to accommodate our group, in a beautiful settting.

We had made a booking, especially knowing how popular Mozambik Linksfield is.

We had our table by the garden, right next to the water fountain, which was perfect! The area was clean and inviting.

Mozambik is strictly Afro-Porto fusion cuisine and if you have been to any Mozambik restaurant, you will know that their food is flavourful and tasty.

Mozambik Linksfield: The Food

We ordered 4 platters which came with chicken, prawns and calamari, and they were cooked to perfection. The prawns  were juicy and tender, and tasted really good. And the sauce . . . wow!

We also had Portuguese rice, chips and salad. Their chips were just the right kind of crispy, with the right amount of spice.

Their calamari is probably one of the best that I have had, if not the best . . . and the sauce!

There is definitely something amazing about their sauces, it literally puts their food on aleague of its own.

Mozambik Linksfield: Service

The service was excellent, from the moment we arrived, to when we enquired about the food and drink options, to ordering our platters all the way to settling our bill.

Our waiter Kelvin was friendly, helpful and patient with us. Our table was outside by the garden, and he took his time understanding each order, and for our group of 10, the food and the drinks came right on time. We never had to wait for a long period to get help, which was refreshing.

Mozambik Linksfield: Ambience

We had our table by the garden this past Saturday . . . and the weather wasn’t playing along in the morning, but later it improved.

The ambience at Mozambik was great, the outside space was buzzing, the crowd was having a good time and on the opposite side to where we were seating, the kids were having a great time playing by the play area.

It’s a casual type of eatery, with benches and umbrellas, it’s casual and laid back. The outside garden area is beautiful…with the fountain and grassy area. The big outside eating area underneath the trees was really a nice touch. The birds are chirping in the trees as you eat, the whole vibe is very nice.

There’s a lot of seating area, which is great. The decor is funky and relaxed,  and the vibe is what was needed for the day!

The verdict

From our experience . . . we got excellent service, excellent food and excellent value for money. Our experience was a really good one, which made our celebration a good one, one that the birthday lady enjoyed to the full.

Our waiter Kelvin was very friendly, and efficient, and he was communicating everything to us.

Best of all, the food was cooked to perfection, we enjoyed it to the full.

Mozambik Linksfield is a place that I recommend fully . . . for any size of celebration and any occasion. All ages are welcome and encouraged!
