Lesbian & Gay Couples in South Africa

Lesbian & Gay Couples in South Africa that are Relationship Goals

Love is beautiful, and given that South Africa is one of the countries where same-sex marriage has been legalized, I wanted to shine the light on gay and lesbian couples in South Africa that can be an inspiration to other gay and lesbian people out there.

We all know that being queer is not the easiest of things, and finding love with someone that you love, that loves you back is one of the most beautiful blessings that life has to offer. To be able to love loudly and boldy is beyond beautiful, so here are some of the gay and lesbian couples that we look up to:

Letoya & Lebo Makhene-Pulumo

Letoya and Lebo Makhene Pulumo’s love story is one that has been documented many times in the media. The couple’s love blossomed in 2020, and they almost broke the internet when Mzansi learned about their relationship. Their love ended up in “I Do” back in December 2020, and since then it’s been beautiful watching their love story and their journey together.

Sylvester Chauke and Tumelo Mmusi

There is nothing more beautiful than a couple that is beautiful together, and inspirational all at the same time. Based on their social media, it’s amazing to see two black men loving on each other, loudly and beautifully, and the fact that they is something to aspire to. As a lesbian couple, we love beautiful love stories, and to see a couple in our community have a successful marriage, is really beautiful.

Xihla and Busi

Xihla and Busi from Lovecoincidentally.co.za . . . and of course that would be us. I am including us here because we found love during the pandemic, when we both were not really looking for it, and we were shocked to find the kind of deep connection that we found with each other. After a trail of failed relationships for me (Xihla), I had retty much given up on it. I never thought it would happen for me and boy was I surprised when it did. Before I rehash our lesbian love story, you can read all about it here.

Of course this article would have included Mohale Motaung and Somizi Mhlongo, as well as Moshe Ndiki and Phelo Bala. It’s just sad when relationhips end . . . anyway I am sure there are way more beautiful relationhips out there that we may not be aware of.

So, please help us and name couples that should be on this post, and we all add them in.
