Our Dining Experience at Lupa Osteria in Design Quarter Fourways
We love food, but it has to be sumptuous food that tastes amazing, and Lupa Osteria Design Quarter (Fourways) is on point when it comes to that!
Lupa Osteria in Design Quarter is a dream . . . the location is perfectly located in Fourways, just off William Nicol and of course, that makes it a popular spot alongside the other popular restaurants and shops that are in Design Quarter.
Lupa Osteria has fast become one of our favourite Italian Restaurant in Johannesburg, and their pasta has made me into a believer. We have done this restaurant a couple of times, just because they deliver excellent service every single time and their food is not just tasty, they have great value for money.
The aesthestics of the restaurants are great, but for us, it’s the outside seating area that make it win. Right opposite The Rock, it’s a beautiful vibe outside, and sometimes they have a performer to serenade the people as they dine.
On this particular day, we decided to go for lunch during the week, which is a bit quieter than usual. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter and we opted to sit outside as the weather was really beautiful, and with Covid 19, it really was a no brainer.
Our waiter brought the drinks menu, and we opted to do cocktails, instead of our usual Merlot and Hunters Cider duo. We settled on a mojito and a vodka infused cocktail, and proceeded to order the Alfredo pasta as well as the Chargrilled Sirloin, which came with the Porcini mushroom risotto, wilted spinach and onion rings. The presentation was amazing for the steak dish . . . and for my partners pasta, they brought out the fire cheese dome, and it was really good.
One thing about Lupa, their food tastes really good. My partner sang praises about her pasta, and on tasting it, she was right. The texture was ust right, and the sauce. . . wow. The steak was also good, plus I like my steak well done. I could never do that medium rare stuff, because it just looks and feels like I am eating something that still needs to be cooked.
What’s weird is that I love pizza, and I have not yet tried their pizza.
What We Love About Lupa Osteria
Not only does the food taste amazing, their portions are quite generous, and we love that. This has allowed us to take a takeout out and enjoy the food even more at home.
Their prices are quite affordable, compared to some of the restaurants that offer what they have on offer, and for that, dining out becomes doable without breaking the bank.
The food is good . . . period!
