Our Experience at Doppio Zero in Sandton City
Bae and I hardly do breakfast dates, and if we do, we normally do something quickfast, because it’s just to grab a quick bite. This time we decided to do a proper breakfast date at Doppio Zero in Sandton City, because I read great reviews online, and people were raving about the view. We love great views, so it was a no brainer.
Doppio Zero Sandton: First Impression
When we got to Doppio Zero, I noticed that the aesthetic is beautiful and very different, compared to other Doppio Zero’s that I have been to. We asked to be seated upstairs so we could enjoy the view, and we were ushered through.
We sat by the big windows, and that gave it an indoor/outdoor feel, which we loved. It was in the morning, and the restaurant wasn’t as busy and there weren’t a lot of people, which is always great becaue still . . . Covid 19.
The ambience was very nice! Very calm and relaxing, and the setup is exactly what we were looking forward to. We had a view of parts of Sandton business mecca with modern skyscrapers all around . . . we enjoyed the view of the outside as we enjoyed our drinks and meal.
Doppio Zero Sandton: Food & Drinks
After the menus were brought to us, we liked that they had a variety of breakfast dishes and they were creative with their menu.
Bae ordered Rooibos tea and I ordered the chai latte, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
For our meal, bae orderd the Egg & Oxtail which is oxtail & short rib ragu, poached eggs, toasted mosbolletjie & tomato gremolata. I ordered the Doppio Breakfast – eggs, bacon, grilled haloumi, mushrooms, balsamic grilled red onions & cherry tomatoes and lamb sausages.
The food was absolutely delicious, one of the best breakfasts we’ve had with perfectly poached eggs, especially because bae and I are not fans of poached eggs. The portions were good and filling.
Doppio Zero Sandton: Service
I cannot fault Doppio Zero when it comes to their service. The waiter was super friendly, and prompt with the service. He even offered to take a picture of us, which was soo sweet.
Final Thoughts
We thoroughly enjoyed Doppio Zero in Sandton City. The ambiance was beautiful and calming, the food was delicious and we had great service.
We enjoyed the view from the 2nd level, and we loved their food options. Best of all, the food is affordable, considering that this restaurant is in Sandton.
